1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how [OPERATOR_NAME], operating bountyhunters.land ("Bounty Hunters," "BH," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use our platform (the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your first name, email address, region, and optionally your phone number. Your password is cryptographically hashed and never stored in plain text.

Vehicle Information. If you add vehicles to your Stable, we collect year, make, model, specifications, condition details, and photographs you upload.

Bounty Information. When you post a Bounty, we collect the vehicle specifications, year range, and preferences you provide.

Profile Information. You may optionally provide a bio and profile photo, which are displayed publicly on your Bounty posters.

Payment Information. Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We do not receive, store, or have access to your full credit card number, debit card number, or bank account details. We receive only a transaction confirmation and the last four digits of your payment method for your records.

Automatically Collected Information. When you use the Platform, our hosting provider may automatically collect standard server log data, including your IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for Platform operation and security purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Platform
• Match Bounties with vehicles in seller Stables
• Send notification emails based on your preferences (e.g., match alerts, Bounty expiration reminders)
• Process payments through Stripe
• Communicate with you about your account, transactions, or changes to our policies
• Improve and develop the Platform
• Enforce our Terms of Service and protect against fraud or abuse

4. Information Shared Publicly

The following information is visible to all Platform visitors:

• Bounty Posters: Your first name, region, bio, and vehicle specification preferences
• Showdowns: When a Showdown occurs, it is visible on the Trading Post, including the Hunter's and Outlaw's first names and vehicle details

Your email address, phone number, and full account details are never displayed publicly.

5. Information Shared with Other Users

When a Hunter and an Outlaw mutually agree to a deal during a Showdown, we share each party's first name and email address with the other to facilitate direct communication. This is the only circumstance in which your email is shared with another user.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Platform. Each service has its own privacy policy governing its handling of your data:

• Supabase — Database, authentication, and file storage
• Stripe — Payment processing
• Google — OAuth sign-in (if you choose to sign in with Google)
• Vercel — Platform hosting

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services.

7. Data We Do Not Collect or Sell

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties. Ever.

We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies used on the Platform are essential authentication session cookies required for you to remain logged in.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including your vehicles, Bounties, Showdown history, and profile information — is permanently and irreversibly removed from our systems.

9. Your Rights

Access. You can view and manage your personal information at any time through your Account settings.

Deletion. You can delete your account and all associated data from Account > Settings. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Email Preferences. You can control which notification emails you receive from Account > Notifications. Certain transactional emails (e.g., Showdown notifications, payment receipts) cannot be opted out of while your account is active.

California Residents (CCPA). If you are a California resident, you have the right to: (a) know what personal information we collect and how it is used; (b) request deletion of your personal information; (c) opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us using the information in Section 14.

10. Cookies

The Platform uses only essential authentication session cookies, which are required for you to remain logged in. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking cookies.

11. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

12. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (TLS/SSL), cryptographically hashed passwords, and row-level security on our database. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least thirty (30) days' notice via email to the address associated with your account. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
